AW14 POLARIS
For Autumn/Winter 2014 RÆBURN drew inspiration from the haunting exhibition by Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson ‘The Last Days of the Arctic’, documenting a disappearing world of craft, culture and community. The resourcefulness and stoicism of the men and women captured in Axelsson’s images and their ability to endure and survive in the harshest of conditions, resonated with RÆBURN’s ongoing interest in protection and preparation.

AW14 AURORA
RÆBURN set his AW14 womens collection in a disappearing world of craft, culture and community, inspired by the intrepid polar pioneers, captured in Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson’s haunting exhibition ‘Last Days of The Arctic’. Axelsson’s evocative images highlight the determination, stoicism and strength of the female explorer and stimulated RÆBURN’s ongoing interest in protection and preparation. The seasonal theme is masterfully realised in a collection of heavy outerwear, layered with softer delicate textures, evocative of polar landscapes, ice flows, and the glimmering lights of the AURORA Borealis.
